Well you'd need to drink a petrol tanker full for it to have any effect, so arguably, any time you like. Why are you drinking it now?

Emsgale · 24/03/2012 08:19

yes go for it drink as much ss you can stomache it is meant to help the cervix for the 2nd stage of labour and can be started ay about 31 weeks I believe. I have capsuels and your allowed to take 6 a day iv been forgetting mine I wad religioys first time round but this time with a toddler it gets forgotten alot lol!

I drank tanker loads full of the stuff, also ate pineapple, took extract of something (cant remember what) had acupuncture - pretty much everything you can think of and still went overdue by the full two weeks!!!!

Doesn't stop you going over due just tones your uterus and purpose to result in stronger and more effective contractions.

I drank loads first three times and had intense contractions and fast straight forward labours, but could just be a coincidence, this time round I'm 36 weeks and haven't had any, keep meaning too but so tired just can't be bothered to force it down me. Hopefully I won't regret it come Dday

Blind, that is half my reason for not drinking this time my contractions were so intense, but can't help worrying that I'll suddenly have a long drawn out labour or pushing stage not having any.

Last time my body literally pushed the baby out with the force of the back to back contractions think it may have been a bit easier if it had been less intense.

I drank gallons first time round and still had 17 hours of syntocinon so I doubt it did anything to aid the efficiency of my contractions. I'm buggered if it did help,
