yes you can Pixie - there will be a midwife on call you can talk to.

I got told to call the maternity ward if after 5. May just be mine though.

KnockedUpMell · 23/03/2012 20:05

Of course! They take it in turns to hold the 'on call' phone/ pager if you're on a specific teams list. Otherwise the delivery suite isopen 24hrs

Yes you can, how are you feeling?

pixiepud · 23/03/2012 22:07

i'm still rather sickly lalabaloo, better than earlier. I rang the midwives (didn't speak to my midwife) she didnt seem to know much, wasn't really worried but still helpful and polite, said to ring the bigger hospital tomorrow if i'm still ropey as they'd know more. (we have a smaller hospital here for uncomplicated births etc and the bigger one in town for everything, they both kind of linked)

Don't ever worry about bothering people Pxie, as an ex-midwife I can tell you I never minded being called - I expected a call or two when holding the bleep - sometimes for labour and other times for pregancy issues such as you are describing. It was never an issue for me and I was happy to be called for advice etc.

I hope you did call and that everything was okay
