31+3 weeks a feel like i'm going to pop

I am 31+3 with 2nd DC. I carried her all front (literally) to the point where it looks like the perfect football is in there. and I seem to be carrying the same with this DC2. People say i still look small but I think I carried DD a lot to the back of my inside iyswim. MW said I must be "hollow" inside as dd came out at 8lb9 and i'm usually a size 8, 5ft7. I'm not complaining as such, I just think i feel bigger this time? and still have 8ish weeks to go!!?

Maybe I had the growth spurt and it wont be noticable now? with DD I gradually started showing after abour 6/7 months. then the last month or so my bump popped out front!

I'm lower this time too - and more stronger BH's even though the ones i had with DD were strong too, but these are more! and DC seems more active?

Omg are you me ??? Haha my dd1 wasn't big but I feel the same as you with DD2 I feel huge.. I feel like I'm going to topple over and I'm so uncomfortable !! Hope the rest of the pregnancy goes fast for you and hopefully you won't grow much more :-)

haha. its odd isnt it! I sometimes wish it would spread out a bit, but its just right out front! Good luck to you too!

Everything on front for me too. Everyone comments on my huge bump and lack of anything anywhere else which apparently is a good thing however comes with it's drawbacks like a hernia, varicose veins in strange areas and toilet habits noone can keep up with! I feel like my skin is going to explode. I am 30+4 with DC1 and I think I have been having BH's also. A tightening and hardening of the bump which isn't sore just uncomfortable?

Yep. Braxton hicks!

I had them with DD1 very strong (not painful) but when your bump is rock solid anyway then BH after BH makes it feel very odd! and brings out the shape of baby!

Yeah another vote for varicose veins in odd areas (apparently go after birth)

The thing i'm finding uncomfortable more this time is the weight of the rock solid bump playing havoc with my posture, especially lower back. baby is lower this time though... since a few weeks back.

I just keep thinking.... they say the most growth happens in the last few weeks........ how big will I get exactly!

"I just keep thinking.... they say the most growth happens in the last few weeks........ how big will I get exactly!" I will topple over if I get any biggerGrin

I too have an upfront bump and nothing anywhere else, other than huge bassoms. With 5 weeks to go I can't see where the extra baby will go, he is already threatening to call cowboy builders as his extention is incomplete and he needs the extra space.

So far back is holding out okay. xx

Yes! This is how I feel too. I'm almost 31 weeks ( 1st baby ) and people keep saying how 'neat' I am but all I can think is the growth spurt is still to come! I'm quite short so feel its a bit squashed, been getting a lot of back and rib ache. Also been getting BH the last couple of weeks, didn't know that's what they were at first thought it was just bad stitch! Is there any truth in the old wives tale about it being a boy if you carry all out front? Or is it the other way round? Or just rubbish ha ha!

Dozeyland · 24/03/2012 20:29

I think it all depends on you and how you carry a baby! I had a DD first. and i was the same as i am now. lower this time (but its not been long since I had DD so my muscles are stretched more i think x
