Marino Wool and Babies

Okay so I have found the cutest baby clothes that are made of Marion wool and when I say cute I mean cute. My questions is will this wool be too itchy for baby and make him too hot?

'too hot' depends on circumstances of course, but itchiness should not be a problem with merino, in fact there's a lot of studies showing that babies relax better when clothed in wool (not just babies actually!) as it is more breathable and moisture taking-away-y than manmade fabrics etc

sheepskins have always been a lovely traditional bed for babies (careful on the tanning method though)

Bear in mind that you might get a puker. Cute as the clothes may be, they might not be as appealing by the time you've had to hand wash them for the millionth time!

You can machine wash merino wool as long as you are careful not to use fabric softener as it stops the breathability of the wool.

Have quite a few bits now all in merino wool as well as a few sleeping bags. I believe it is a useful fabric for baby clothes as it can help to regulate their temperature. So will keep them cool when it's hot and all toasty when it's colder.

my baby was given a merino jumper... endless fluff between her fingers... better invest in quality cotton...

The bambino merino sleeping bags are amazing. They last from birth to two years and regulate heat so are cool in summer and warm in winter. Expensive to buy - but probably work out cheaper or the same in the long run if the alternative is to buy different size and different tog bags for the first 2 years. You can get a deal if you buy 2 and that is all you need. My 2 are in excellent cognition and will be used by dc2 (when he/ she decides to grace us with their presence)

They sell 2 for £99. Sounds like a horrendous price - but, you will only need those 2 bags for 2 whole years nd not buy any other. They don't wear out either. I have been given second hand bags including gro bag makes from friends and they have all been really faded and tired and not even soft. I never used any of them - just used my merino ones.
I wouldn't bother with merino clothes, as babies grow fast and outgrow them, but the bags are great

Btw, they don't feel woolly or knitted, more like thick very very soft padded cotton. They are not bulky or padded like other bags. Obviously very long on little babies, but you can tuck the bottom of bag in under mattress, or use the poppers to turn it up. I used mine as soon as they were out of he Moses basket and in the cot
