Feeling ill in early pregnancy

Nearly 6 weeks and I'm feeling awful. Nausea, but most of all, dizzy. It's like the world's most horrible hangover! Does anyone else feel so rough? How long does this last? Any advice would be great!

ha, it's a crazy sick-making whirlwind in the early weeks. can't tell you how long it will last sadly. For lots of people it lasts for the whole of the 1st trimester. I started feeling better about week 11-12 this last time. My friend however was still puking daily at 24wks!

I found ginger sweets and lemon&ginger tea really helped. Plus eating little and often and making sure your stomach is never totally empty

hope you feel better soon!

I found I started to feel a bit better at about 10 weeks, then much better by 11/12.
Now (13 weeks) I'm no longer feeling like I have a constant hangover, just a bit less hungry than usual.

My best advice would be don't force yourself to eat - I found that when I did, I puked it straight back up, which was nasty, and got me no extra nutrition whatsoever. If I waited till I was hungry, there was a chance of it staying down. And most women in this country have enough reserves to not starve them or baby during the six-12 week puke window. (unless you have hyperemesis, in which case off to the doctors! but thats unusual)

So vitamins and whatever you can manage. It's horrid, but it won't last forever x
