just come back from the m/w, last week consultnat said bubs was 'average' saized, I always measured about 1cm bigger but the last 3 weeks have been either slightly small, or this week the correct CM.

this week's m/w said he's def not gonna be a small baby - as in 6lb (which I didn't want) she's predicting 7.5-8lb but wouldn't commit as it was just a 'feel' of the tum - which is v taught (in her words)

so can u be all bump/baby?? cons last week said there was the correct amount of fluids around the baby. I'd quite like an 'average' sized baby.

what do u think - should I worry bout having a 10lber? PG to date has been v healthy and active - not eaten extra althou have eaten bad at times had a week of protien/ketones which are now all sorted out thankfully.

Stop panicking woman!

Whatever will be will be! I was HUGE with Jess - bigger than i was in the end with Becky, and Jess was only 6lbs 6oz, Becky was 7lbs 4oz.

CALM IT!

munz · 02/02/2006 15:41

[scared emotion] lol. yes mum

I'm stressing more about clothes/nappies tbh - althou I don't fancy a normal birth with a 10lber, and my cons won't induce for a big baby.

No body knows. even scans can be wrong. i had ds2 at 36wks. he was 7lb 13.5oz.........HUGE for 36wks!! but no one ever said he was big etc before i had him, which if i had have gone FT he could have been 11lb the midwfie said!

JustBonnie · 02/02/2006 15:41

no, no, no don't worry about having a big baby. I was told at a 36 week scan that my baby was going to be very large. Went nearly a week over due so was obviously panicking. She was 7lb13oz which is not huge. They really can't tell, even by a scan. You just have to wait and see. good luck

Marne · 02/02/2006 15:45

I was huge with dd1, she came a week early and was 7lb 8oz, i thought i was having a 10lb'er, i had put on 3 stone! This time my bump is smaller and i have only put on 1 stone.

Don't worry munz as long as the baby is healthy, thats what matters.

oliveoil · 02/02/2006 15:49

I had a huge bump with both and they were 9lb 10oz and 9lb 5oz.

Why would you worry if they were big? Nothing you can do about it now anyway, HA!

I think all pregnant women are huge are they not, goes with the territory.

munz · 02/02/2006 15:51

I know marne, and the baby's always had a strong healthy heart beat, so can't ask for more than that.

ah, it will be fine! You are stronger than you think you are.

take each day at a time and when the time comes, you will know about it!

pepperrabbit · 02/02/2006 15:59

I was huuuge last time and diabetic and there were dire warnings re size, though they let me go one week over so clearly weren't that bothered, and DS was only 8lb 13oz. Didn't do much for my pelvic floor but then i wasn't exactly Mrs Diligent with the old exercises
Just make sure you've got a few 0-3 months clothes in, not just Newborn.
Also, wasn't quite so scared DS would break cos he was quite chunky compared to the tiny twins in the next bed!

munz · 02/02/2006 16:00

JM - u'll set me tears off again!x

pelvic floor - ahem what's that then! lol. is it true it helps labour?

my mw thought my baby would be 9lbs (which didn't suprise me as they're all 9lbs in our family!). she came out 6lb 7 (at 39+1 weeks) and it was only 5 days after mw predicted the weight.

munz · 03/02/2006 09:29

well the m/w didn't think it was hereditry, (sp) cos DB was 7.5 and a week early I was 7.5 1/2 and 2 weeks early. DH was 8lb on time - and his mum/bio dad are roughly the same sizes as us.

DH finds it highly amusing that the baby could be around 9/10lb the nappies won't fit!
