How many weeks are you? I'm currently at 34 weeks and I have been experiencing similar. I would describe them as electric shock type shooting pains. Perhaps practice surges (Braxton Hicks) type sensations? I am in the dark a bit as also my first pregnancy and I know that BH's, like contractions, can present in so many different ways for women, i.e., sensations in back, sensations in stomach, sensations in fanjo......Confused

I get that too, I think its where the baby's head is pressing on nerves as she's starting to engage. How many weeks are you? I'm 37+5 and its been happening for the last 2 weeks.

I'm 31 weeks.. My plug went yesterday Sad I've been getting braxton hicks for months but this is a new thing that's only happened today. She's gone from breech to head down so I suppose it would make sense

OP, I feel your pain. I'm 40+6 with DC3 and have had this for about 8 weeks, getting progressively worse to the point it had me in tears tonight Blush

I don't know exactly what it is, but I do know it's not uncommon.

ChineapplePunk · 19/03/2012 20:19

Yeh, it's probably that. I've been told that my bub's head is down, so it's probably pressure from his little noggin. :)

My dd was breech so I never had it before.. The joys of pregnancy eh !!

It sounds like something I got late in the last trimester - I'd be fine and walking around normally one second and it would literally would stop me in my tracks for a moment. My midwife said it was the pressure and weight in umaccustomed places.

Not something I'd come accross even on the MN "things no one tells you" threads.
Don't just take my word for it though please ask your midwife if it worries you.
