Sneezing - dignity out of the window

Was bursting for the loo last night but too lazy to get off my seat. Walking to the loo finally and sneezed on the way. Cue me wetting my knickers (not soaking them but a bit escaped). Oh the shame!! Time for pelvic floor exercises. Please console me by telling me that I'm not the only one this has happened to!

17 wks pg with DC2.

I have to stand still and cross my legs when I sneeze now Wink

ElizabethPonsonby · 19/03/2012 10:05

Same here, stand still, hold bump, cross legs and sneeze Grin I'm nearly 23 weeks...

Stinkyminkymoo · 19/03/2012 10:22

I was told there was no dignity in child birth. They clearly meant to include pregnancy in that too.

I have a horrendous cough and need to keep my legs crossed should anything, umm escape. I'm 19+2. Joy.

SausageSmuggler · 19/03/2012 13:15

Yep happened/s to me too. I had a long cough (3-4 weeks) over winter and...well it got quite upsetting at times lets just put it that way.

Oh you're all making me feel much better (at your own expense, granted Grin). DH laughed at first but then crossed the line to being slightly disgusted. I don't think he's finding pregnancy particularly attractive right now Grin

Don't want to scare you but get cracking in the pelvic floor exercises! The little accidents continue to escape when sneezing, coughing, laughing, running and especially jumping once the baby is out.

I am paying dearly for not doing those exercises, I think it is me that needs potty training these days :o

NeedlesCuties · 19/03/2012 14:55

Same here!

I have been having hyperemesis this pregnancy (DC2) and I must admit to having peed myself a few times when I've been vomiting Blush

Have started doing pelvic floor exercises as I really don't want to be peeing myself forever, am only 18 weeks pregnant!

Stinkyminkymoo · 19/03/2012 15:19

Well I don't understand! I do do pelvic floor exercises and it still happens!

monkeysmama · 19/03/2012 15:22

I'm worried about it this time round. I had dd almost 4 years ago & haven't been able to jump properly since. Blush Am now 23 weeks and am exercising my pelvic floor constantly.

ticklebug74 · 19/03/2012 15:39

I think a lot of us believe we are doing pelvic floor exercises properly (as did I) but I started pilates last year and had private one to one sessions purely to correct my pelvic floor and I know now how to do them properly and can see the improvements finally.

Merje · 19/03/2012 18:30

Ah yes! That happened for the first time yesterday- thank god I was home! I'm 38 weeks and have been naughty and not done as many pelvic floor exercises as I probably should have...

pingdriver · 19/03/2012 18:38

yep very familiar. Had bad cold and cough and spent alot of money on tena lady. My midwife has said not to bother on pelvic floor excersises now - too late now as 30 weeks with second. Important to get started properly after arrival!
