I'm nearly 26 weeks and haven't bought anything at all for baby. It all seems so far away! The only things i have are a couple of bits and pieces given to me by friends. Am I unusual in this?!

No. I hadn't consider much until I was 30wks plus & even then it wasn't until 35wks that I properly got myself organised. It all seems a bit distant at 26wks so you're not unusual!!!

At 26 wks I was compiling lists because my head was spinning off. At 30 wks I'm still doing lists and my head is still spinning off, but this weekend I've made a start at NCT sale etc still loads to get though Smile

Plenty of time to get it all when you go on maternity leave, it will keep you busy, and hopefully you won't get bored.

We have so far purchased a chest of drawers. Yesterday. I am 30 weeks. We hope to decorate our sons room over the easter break. so another 2 weeks yet. Then get cot etc out of attic and unpack everything and take it from there - so will be 34 weeks then!

So no rush here.

Bump is a girl and all the stuff we have is for a boy (also need new matteress but need measurements first.)

It will come together.

Plenty of time - although I'm on DC2 so have a lots from last time there are a few things that I need to get - namely a new carseat and a crib, plus nappies, mat pads etc. I haven't got them yet and actually still can't for another couple of weeks as we are still decorating the room. I'm just on 35 weeks now and will be 38/39 weeks before I'm feeling like everything is sorted.

I do know what we need and have a list of everything plus the shops I will buy from etc. (mostly online to get the best prices) - so when I am in a postion to start buying, I will just spend an evening online shopping.

Even for DC1 I didn't buy a lot until after 34 weeks, purely as that was when I went on maternity leave.

Use the time now to plan what you need, take a look at things in the shops and find out what you really need. Don't forget, shops will still be there after the baby is born and there is nothing to stop you online shopping for something you didn't buy beforehand during a 3am feed.
