Is there always a show?

Hi everyone,
My question is does there always have to be a show? I am 39+5, have been hoping for a show for the lady few days, but not getting anything except some clear discharge, not much but quite thick.
I have been having back pain since yesterday and a dragging feeling all day today. At the moment I am having regular tightenings, but they might just be BH's, baby is certainly having a good wriggle every time I get one.
I just want this over now!!!

Hi helgaw99. I had no show with DS1. But I also had no BH, no niggles, no twinges,no nothing.
Unsurprisingly I was induced at 40+10.
With DS2 I had a show at around the 39 week stage. It was very much like snot! But like a plug. I got all excited....and ended up being induced at 40+10!
This time I am prepared for induction! Grin
But to answer your question, there does not have to be a show. Whatever happens, you're going to be cuddling your wee baby very soon!
Good luck!

I didn't have a show until I was already in the delivery suite and about 6 cm dilated, and my waters were broken for me when I was fully dilated! For me, contractions were the only sign of labour.

With dc1 my waters broke, and she was born the following evening. I never saw a show at any point, and I never had any pre-labour symptoms prior to eaters going either - no camps or bh or anything.
This time I have had bh since 30 weeks and in last months some very thick clear mucus discharge plus cramps, nausea and pressure - but no bloody show. Currently 39 weeks and waddling lie a duck baby is so low......

Hi I never saw a show with either of mine (had two). The first time my waters broke with a gush, the second just a trickle and i wasn't even sure if they had broken or not!
