Hiya very random post, but iv been approached by a tv company to take part in a pregnancy tv show.
They want to film key moments in the rest of my pregnancy (I'm 33 weeks) - which would also include the birth!!! That bit wouldn't be as intrusive as one born for example - no intimate shots.
They also want to film a baby shower, pregnancy photo shoot decorating the nursery and anything else I might do like pregnancy acupuncture or holistic therapies.

I like the idea of having a bit if a pregnancy video diary in years to come but really unsure about sharing such a personal experience with who ever fancies watching.

What do you guys think? Would you take part or is it a massive no no.

Depends how much they are willing to pay :P

I'd do it if they paid a good amount :)

I wouldn't do it. Especially having the birth filmed. That's an intimate and private moment and I wouldn't want it on national tv.

No way, not for me. My privacy is far too important.

What if something went wrong? What if you changed your mind? Would you be tied to a contract that meant it would be shown anyway?

Hmm, its an interesting one. Depending on the cash, I would seriously think about it, but I am pregnant with DS2, with my first I would have been more reticent. Depending on what sort of person you are, it could be a really fantastic opportunity which you will always feel proud of doing, and also may be useful to other pregnant women to see a real-life experience, but I appreciate what the other posters have said as well - for me, I would say yes, but my DH would probably run for the hills screaming 'NOOOOOOOO!!!'.

Is this the Sky documentary?

No way on earth.

littlemissnormal · 15/03/2012 19:31

One of my friends had her hen party filmed a few years ago for a sky documentary. She really regretted it as her friends didn't feel comfortable, didn't act normally or played up for the cameras so kind of ruined the night for her.

I'd say no!-pregnancy and birth are so emotional stressful and personal - could you imagine adding a film crew with nothing but ratings on their mind to that mix??

In reality when you go into labour the chances are you may want to kick the production company in the knackers.
