Just a quick question, does you show happen in stages or all in one go. TMI coming up...earlier I had a mucas like discharge when I wiped, and now just popped to the loo and seen a blood clot like thingy (so sorry ladies ) Would you say this is the begining of the end? If so do I need to phone labour ward or do I just sit and wait patiently.

as long as you're not actually bleeding probably just a wait and see thing! remembering my 1st. had what you described at 9 on sunday night had niggly pains all night and went to hosp at 1 pm monday- but didnt actually give birth til 1 in morning of tuesday. so my advice is to get as much rest as possible now! good luck!

I've just been googling this -- sounds like yours is clearer cut than, mine, zay! I've been leaking pinkish discharge all day. Things I find suggest both are forms of "show" and a sign, but it could mean labour anywhere from a few hours away to a week or more.

Thanks ladies, was really funny, when it happened was bouncing off the walls. Since then nothing, a big fat nothing. but have been having all the niggly pains all day, more than usual. Keep telling my OH, todays the day. I'll soon be known as the girl who cried labour!!

It can apparently be up to 2 weeks to have labour after a show!!!!!

You don't need to phone unless you are bleeding, your waters break but you have no contractions or you're contracting 3x in 10 minutes or you need pain relief, good luck - labour could be minutes or weeks away!

Mine was like a big pinky blob of jelly - not really pleasant. It was just all at once and I had dd 9 hours later!
