Have i hurt my baby?

Hi, just need someone to tell me if this could of hurt my baby, i am 21 weeks and last night, in an attempt to cheer up my 4yr old i sucked some helium out of a balloon and sang a song in that squeeky voice IYKWIM.

Any way, as soon as i had finished the song i realised how stupid i was and looked up helium affects on fetus's.
It ranges from people saying that i have probably brain damaged my baby, to a doctor forum saying, that whilst it isn't advisable, it wouldn't of done anything long term damaging to my baby.

So anyone out there who actually knows, or has done a similar thing etc?
felt baby move last night a little, but nothing today Sad

First of all, try not to panic!

Some people don't know they are pregnant for the entire time and do all manner of things.

Maybe give your hv a call? I'm sure everything is fine, good luck xxx

I know i found out very late with my first and had been eating and drinking off the no-no list for the first 6 months, and ignorance was bliss.

I can't even believe i did that with the balloon! i am trying to not worry too much, as im sure that even if something was wrong now, nothing would help, i have a scan on the 19th so will ask if there is anything wrong then.

It says online that basically the helium you take in displaces the oxygen in your lungs, i felt fine afterwards, not dizzy or anything, but obviously it can affect a baby differently.

Yep keep calm, first of all if movements are out of the ordinary i would go and get checked out (it's probably more to do with you worrying than any problem with the baby)

second step away from Google tis a dangerous place.

I doubt the amount of helium you injested will make any difference at all to your baby but if in doubt ring your midwife/gp and ask, it won't be the oddest question they have ever been asked.

and really try not to panic as curious said many people never know they're pregnant and do all sorts. X

Please call your MW and don't rely on google.

Just called the DAU and the midwife had a little giggle, she said that it would be fine, as it is a similar thing they use in the gas and air for labour.

I feel loads better now.
