Hello MN a quick question again!!!

I have had a stomach bug since the weekend which has now cleared up, however since yesterday I have had very strange twinges in my lower abdomen, coupled with backache. Baby has been quite active, I have an appointment with the MW tomorrow, but just wondering if anybody can advise me between now and then.

I have had a increase in discharge (Sorry TMI) and my bump seems a different shape smaller and more compact. I have occassional pains in my groin and have been feeling sick when the pain comes. I would have said I was having BH but they are quite painful. I am 33 weeks and 2 days.

xx

I don't know what to say, sorry, just couldn't read and leave. Maybe you should phone your midwife and ask to get seen today? I've been feeling very unwell to for past week and I'm 33+6 so maybe its common for this stage. Although this is my second and never remembered being like this. Baby has got bigger so maybe that could be why bump seems more compact?

Sounds very similar to feelings I've been having for the last couple of weeks. I'm 33 weeks. I've had a big increase in discharge, and occasionally get a strange pinchy feeling in my groin.

Braxton Hicks can be very painful - I've had BH contractions since week 22, and they can really hurt at times. MW told me that although it's not 'normal' for them to hurt so much, it's not unheard of.
They are more painful for me when I am dehydrated or have a full bladder.

Thanks for your responses confuzed90 & SarryB.

Quick update. We went to the Dr as baby was head down and I was in a lot of pain. The Dr then called through to the delivery ward to say we were on route. They monitered us for a little while and there was tightening with talk of steroids for babys lungs etc and the possibility of it being time, initially they thought it was a prem labour but after having a spectrual (SP) (to check my cervix was still closed, which it is) test it turns out that they were contractions caused by things stretching a lot and baby being lower down. I was told to rest and take pain killers and keep an eye on things as it could indicate a pre term labour.

The MW could actually feel the contractions when they happened and they coinsided with babu mmoving more often than not.

xx
