Just getting ready for my 16 week appointment and did my urine sample. Decided it was too yellow, gulped down some water and did it again. Why do I care if it's yellow? Will the midwife give a monkey's? Probably not! Please reassure me that the rest of you do odd things too.....

no, my wee was shocking today. she barely blinked, sent off a sample...

if i'd had time i'd have drunk more water, but more if it is an infection to clear that out..

Aren't you supposed to give them your first wee of the day so it's more concentrated to get a truer result? So therefore more yellow is better???

Not quite sure how urine can be 'too yellow' and I'm sure the MW will have seen every type of urine imaginable.

The pregnancy hormones can make urine yellow, plus if you're taking any pregnancy vitamins that will alter the colour too. Dark urine is also a sign of dehydration.

Drink some more water and don't fret. But I agree that the MW is keen to test the first urine of the day as it's more concentrated and hasn't been diluted with whatever you've eaten/drunk during the day.
