Out of date mayonnaise - dangerous?

I bought some mayo tonight and had eaten some before realising it didn't taste right. Checked the date and it went out last July, yuck! Am I likely to get food poisoning? Have already had a sickness bug in past few weeks and lost 9lbs then so am worried it could be dangerous to baby. Man in shop tried to fob me off, grrr am so angry!

dont eat any more! i had out of date mayo last night and threw up (sorry tmi) i dont think it will have much effect on the baby, its normally mayo made with unpasturised milk they warn you about.

sorry just realised your highly unlikey to eat anymore so ignore that bit

If its pasteurised stuff like Helmans etc you should be alright. It's a BBE date on.those, meaning it prob won't taste quite as good as normal but won't pose a microbiological health risk (unlike use by dates which must be put on dairy etc as they go off). The shopkeeper shouldn't really have sold it as full priced fresh goods, but it is unlikely to cause any health risk.
