Very early pregnancy, come into brief contact with baby with Rubella, am I at risk?

Now naturally I have my GP calling me to discuss this, in the mean time I am going a bit nuts with worry.
I am 5 weeks pregnant and my friends little girl has Rubella, I was with them this morning for about 10-15 minutes, I didn't hold the baby or touch it but I was next to it.
I sound insane don't I?

I'm not sure if I am immune, I am sure I had the MMR as a child, it was never mentioned as an issue when I had DS1 and DS2.
Any ideas of how at risk I am from this?

if you this has never been mentioned in your previous pregnancies, then that should be a good sign.. they test immunity to MMR and would tell you if you weren't immune.

Hope this helps!

you will have had a blood test with DS1 and 2 that will tell if you have an immunity to Rubella, the GP should be able to tell you, but if it was never mentioned in your previous pregnancys i would imagine you had an immunity at the time, you don't sound insane it is a worry, my mum didn't have an immunity while pregnant with my brother and she was worried all the way through.

Try not to worry it is rare that if you had the MMR you won't be protected.

You will be fine!

I've had my MMR and found out at booking in bloods that i'm not immune to Rubella and i need to be vaccinated as soon as i've have had my baby, apparently my body didn't take to the rubella part of the jab but as the other posters have said this would have been picked up from your bloods - i've got about 4 huge bright stickers in my maternity notes saying Rubella!

This pregnancy paranoia is unreal my bp was high at the midwife last week so i convinced myself my hands were swollen and i was seeing stars etc etc and i went again this mornming and bp was perfectly fine, we worry too much ;)

Sorry should have said it would have been picked up from your bloods at previous pregnancies!!

I have been sent to the hospital for an emergency blood test, but the GP thinks it will be fine. Just got to wait for the results on Friday. Thanks again.
