I wonder if anyone can tell me if there is a website that tells you which authorities do 12 week scan and which do 20 week scans? Have tried googling but to no avail!!

Thanks for the reply Lockets. I'm in Kent and last time had 12 week and 20 week but I know in Reading and other places they only have a 20 week scan and wasn't sure if it might have changed.

I'm in Bristol, we only get 20wk so you have lie about not knowing dates to get a dating scan if you want one.

I'm in Kent too and had a 16 week check in scan at Maidstone and then one at about 22 weeks, again at the hospital. Paid for a private Nuchal Fold scan at 12 weeks. I think this is the normal pattern for Kent.

thanks for the replies. Rang the hospital and they still do 12 week scans - phew!

LJ - I lived in reading with ds and got a 12 week one!

lunavix · 02/02/2006 14:15

and I still live nearby (having new baby at the royal berks again) and am having 12 week scan next weds

LucyJones · 02/02/2006 14:19

that's really odd then. My best friend had a miscarriage this time last year and she said there were no scans until 20 weeks unless they couldn't detect heartbeat with a doppler or there were a history of problems!!

LJ - maybe they know I'd stamp my feet till I get what I wanted :O

automatically. I lived practically next to the hospital with ds ( I know that's two years ago though ) and got offered 12 and 20 week scans (though the lady refused to tell us the sex at 20 weeks as 'she'd get sued if it's wrong', although my friends who went at the same time were all told!) this time I'm having baby at RBH again, and got offered 12 and 20 week scans at RBH or local hospital (newbury) and have taken it at newbury, as it's 20 minutes closer.
