Showing really early - what's going on?

So, I'm 7 or 8 weeks pregnant but already have quite a neat little bump! Does anybody else have this? How is it even possible, considering how tiny my lovely little embryo is right now? Confused

With DS, I wasn't showing even slightly until the second trimester. Now I had to try on three different outfits on Friday before daring to go to work. This is what's bothering me - work-wise, I really can't have anyone guessing at this stage. How do you hide a bump?

I asked my mum about it and she said it's because I'm very slim and narrow, so ANYTHING shows very quickly. I take her point, but it was nothing like this with DS. I bought new jeans about 3 weeks ago before finding out I was pregnant, and I'm nowhere near being able to fasten them already.

I haven't been eating masses - I've jut had a moderate, healthy increase in appetite. And it's all solid bump, so don't call me fat!

Any reassurance that I'm not a freak of nature, and any tips on how to hide my bump, would be really, really welcome. Smile

From anecdotal evidence, you're always bigger with your second+ because the muscles have been relaxed/stretched already and don't go back the way they were.

Just buy some tunic tops or wear longer cardigans to disguise it, or wear signature jewellery, so people's attention will be drawn there instead.

It's probably less noticeable than you realise - like a spot, you think its HUGE but no-one else even notices it.

Thank you, that makes sense. DS was a very large baby so probably stretched me more than most do their mothers.

I tried telling DH it was probably a muscle thing, but he's freaking out about it more than me. And then we both doubly freaked out when our next door neighbour dropped in on us this morning. I was in a vest top and pyjama bottoms, and she said 'Wow, congratulations!' before even testing the water.

Tunic tops all the way, then!
