37 weeks and suddenly lots of hiccups

So my LO has had very few instances of hiccups until just this week -- now she hiccups several times a day. Is this change normal? She was also 1/5 engaged for the first time at MW appointment at the start of the week.

My first had this I do not think it is anything to worry about. I believe that I read somewhere that hiccoughs are the body's way of becoming strong enough to breathe whilst still in-utero.

Yep - what Dottymcdot says...LO is practising its breathing for when it comes out, and swallowing lots of amniotic fluid in the process which makes it hiccup more!
