I am 22 weeks pregnant with my 3 DC and was wondering will this labour be quicker or is it all a myth?

1st baby DS was 10 over due i was induced and labour lasted 12 hours.

2nd baby DD was 2 days over but went on my own and labour lasted 2 hours.

GP told me this time when i feel any certain labour pains to get into hosptial straight away. I cant imagine i could labour in less than 2 hours??

any other ladies on there 3rd and any ladies on there 4th and can tell me there experiences please?

I'm 39 weeks with number 3. First was very like yours, 10 days over, induced and a 14 hour labour. Second was 8 days overdue but spontaneous and lasted 3.5 hours. I know with my second, and with this one, I have had lots of niggling pain and cramps which I think are actually doing something, which make labour when it does kick off much quicker (or so I hope). I didn't have any feelings of things being imminent with my first. People have told me that third births can be unpredicatble though. I have been assuming that it'll be fairly quick once it does kick off, so I don't know how I'll cope if i's as long as my first birth tbh. It also doesn't help that both births have roughly started the same way (even with induction, it was waters breaking suddenly, and straight into big contractions) so I'm expecting that again, and this one is also back to back as the others have been. If my waters don't go, I'm not sure I'll know when to go in, which is ridiculous really as this is my third. Luckily I'm only a few minutes from hospital though.

1st baby - 3 weeks over. Induced. Took 36 hours.

2nd baby - 10 days over. Induced. Took 24 hours.

3rd baby - 9 days over. Not induced. Took 3 hours. Shock

I have been experincing alot more aches and pains this time round just like my second DC. with DS i never got a pain until i was induced. I know what you mean about not knowing when to go in to hospital cause with DD i was in labour all day and it was only when my waters went that i had really bad pains. im hoping this labour will be fast but it will also mean very intense which im a bit afraid of lol.
silent oh my goodness thats defo some difference i bet you were very shocked lol.

Very shocked! One minute I was having a few mild contractions, texting friends, eating a snickers... the next minute they were shouting that there wasn't enough time to get me to the delivery room! My husband missed the whole thing. That Snickers bar was the closest thing I had to pain relief.

hahaha oh im sorry for laughing but your comment is so funny. When i see a snickers i will think of you :)
i worry about DP not making it on time im sure you were scared i couldnt imagine doing it on my own :( i remember with ds the midwife shouted at me and told me to pull myself together and get into bed and sleep that i was ony having gel pains. i sat in the toilet crying my eyes out felt like such a child being shouted at by a teacher lol

Oh no! :( What a horrid midwife. That's the absolute last thing you need. I was a complete baby and shouted and cried and at one point refused to go on with it ("I've changed my mind! I'm going home and you can't make me stay!!") and even did a big poo, and the midwives were so lovely and encouraging and sweet. In fact, even though I had planned for my husband to be there, in the end it was quite relaxing to be just me and the midwives. They were complete professionals, and I don't now have to worry about my husband seeing me naked and screaming and pooing - not that I would worry really, but you know what I mean. Husband arrived panting at the delivery room 15 minutes too late.

I hope you have nicer midwives this time.
