My midwife says she'll do this at my next appointment (40+1) and it's just dawned on me that I might need someone with me... Or will I be ok on my own and ok driving etc afterwards? x

I had mine alone and was fine, but others might be different?
Good luck with it!!

I was on my own, no problem - similar to something like a smear test.

Oh that's good. Thanks ladies. Don't want hubby to have to take time off that could be better spent when baba finally arrives!

You'll be fine on your own. However just bear in mind there's always a chance they may not be able to do one. I had a failed attempt at 41+3 & 41+6. They weren't able to do one till 42+1 but that seemed to do the trick

I disagree the others - I'd have someone with you. After mine, I was in alot of pain and was doubled over with terrible pains and cramps and there was no way I could have driven home on my own. Everyone reacts differently to these things so I'd personally err on the side of caution and have someone go with you. I know someone as well who's waters broke immediately afterwords and never came home until baby was born!

MrsJangles that's exactly what I was worried about! Hubby only works 10 mins away so I'll go on my own and call him if I need too I think.
