Best blanket for swaddling??

Looking to buy one of these for our baby which is due in May. Wondered which one people recommend. Have been looking at the NCT swaddling blanket and also the Miracle one from Mothercare. Any tips would be great!!

I was given a brilliant pressie for DC3 that I wish I'd discovered for my previous 2 babies - its a gigantic muslin that you can use as a muslin / breastfeeding cover-up / swaddling wrap. Its particularly fab for swaddling because its so thin (so no risk of baby overheating) - its square in shape & so you just fold it in half diagonally to make a triangle shape, and swaddle baby in it. FAB! Ask a midwife to show you how to swaddle if you need help....

The make is 'Aden & Anais' (google it, I believe its sold via amazon), and they do various colours / patterns etc.

I'd never heard of it before DC3, but my london mummy friends (i'm out in the wilds of wiltshire, so not up to speed with whats trendy!) assure me its the thing to be seen with in London.....then I spotted a picture of Jools Oliver when she left hospital with their 4th baby last year, fully swaddled in an orange star version. Have to say, its been the best pressie I've been given for any of my babies, has gotten masses of use in the past 5months.

The grobag company also did some nice strechy ones when dd3 was small I had a couple of those.

I second the grobag company ones. They were really good.

I had an elephant patterned gro bag one which was gender neutral. John Lewis have some lovely ones. Their is a feature on guardian life and style page today showing you how to make one

Another vote for Aden + Anais muslin swaddle blankets. Was given one for dc1 3 years ago by a Canadian friend and have bought a new pack for dc2 due next month. So versatile that we were using it well past the swaddling stage.
