Missing a midwife appointment

I've just relocated to a new area & signed up to a new doctors surgery.
I was due to see my midwife for my 24 week appointment in 16th March but have been told the new surgery can't get me in until the 29th March. Should I be worried about waiting another 2 weeks to see a midwife?

It depends. Are you aware of any complications in your pregnancy so far? If not, and you can feel the baby moving I wouldn't worry too much, but if you've got any concerns, I'd press for an earlier appointment

I keep having slightly erractic appointments (gaps of 5 weeks then 2 weeks) which is more my fault than my midwife's. As long as you know who to call should you be worried about anything then it should be fine.

Sorry- hit submit too soon.

I actually did exactly this because I got stuck in the Uk due to the ash cloud (i live overseas) with my first pregnancy and missed my 20 week scan and Obs appointment. I emailed my Obs to find out if I shd see someone in the UK and she said not to bother.

I'm not aware of any complications, the only real problem is that I'm a born worrier!! Moving from a big city to a small town with far far less services available for pregnancy has just got me all in a panic but I feel a bit better thanks to your replies now! Smile

9 weeks between my MW apps!

I know this might sound silly but if you've got an appt with the previous midwife don't forget to cancel it, she won't necessarily get any notification you've moved doctors.
And on that note, if you are flexible (and worried) you may be able to ask to me let known if any last min appts become free and you can make them.

But really don't worry!

I have told my original midwife I no longer live there & can't make the appointment, you're right- she hadn't been informed so I'm glad I did.
The new local midwife is in every Thursday so I'm going to call Thursday mornings to check for cancellations but in the meantime I'm much less worried!
Thanks for the advice! X
