Hi i'm just curious to know how far along you were when you started to show? i'm only 6+6 with my 1st at the min so i know i'm a long way off. just started bloating up so started to get a very fetching double chin lol. yay water retention i hope it will go away when my hormones settle.

i've been horrifically bloated since 8 weeks and actually switched to maternity jeans at that stage because normal ones just made me feel more ill/uncomfortable. i'm quite slim though so i think any bloating/growth has been v quickly noticeable for me.

am now 11-12ish weeks and starting to think that a small baby bump has now filled in what was mostly bloating...

still feel like i swallowed a whale though. bleurgh.

you know what i actually thought about buying maternity jeans today as my favorite jeans have started to dig in so i have been wearing dresses the last few days. I have Gilbert's syndrome which is a liver thing which makes me bloat up quite a lot anyway but it normally only lasts a day so being bloated for over a week so early has confused me a little.

well i would do it if you can find some at a good price. i just got an under-the-bump, wideish-elastic-top pair, they were on spesh at H&M for next to nothing and soooo worth it. so much more comfortable. (DH said they made me stop moaning all the time, lol)

it's not like they'll go to waste, you'll wear them at least for a few months.

(btw i have also been living in dresses/tunics + leggings at work... can't bear to wear my usual work trousers, feel sick thinking about it!)

i forget H+M do Maternity clothes I will be trying to find trousers this weekend thanks. I thankfully only need to be in an office once a week so haven't had too much of an issue with work clothes. I'm getting married in 4 weeks so i'm hating the idea of my wedding dress :(

With my first I started getting a v small bump at 11-12 weeks but not noticeable to someone who didn't know I was preg.

I was in mat jeans from about 16 weeks and had a noticeable bump from about 22ish weeks.

MillyStar · 08/03/2012 10:13

I'm 35 weeks today with my first and I had nothing till about 25 weeks, a stranger wouldnt have been able to tell until i was about 30 weeks!

I was a size 18 when i fell pregnant so mabye that's why!

I'm a big mama now lol

festiemum · 08/03/2012 10:18

I've always 'shown off' rather than merely shown iykwim! Probably cos I have good tum to start with! Blush

I'm now 10 weeks with #4 and already have a pronounced bump! Think my muscles are jiggered! :o

applecrumple · 08/03/2012 10:48

I'm 10 weeks & got quite an impressive bump already. Not sure I'll be able to hold out much longer before getting at least one pair of maternity trousers for work - making do with very baggy tops at the moment to hide the bulge!

TheBreadstick · 08/03/2012 11:18

I started showing in earnest around the 7 month mark, although yesterday - when interviewing for my maternity cover one candidate was shocked to learn I was the person going on maternity leave - I'm due in 5 weeks! Blush

So glad everyone's mentioned the bloating! I'm 9 weeks and I look like a cross between 8 months pregnant and really really fat but I feel hugely bloated/queasy a lot of the time. I'm hoping beyond hope the bloating thing will die down soonish.

Tights are the worst thing for me - I usually wear bodyshaper ones as they don't wrinkle or fall down but they feel like I've put my stomach in a vice at the moment Blush

applecrumple · 08/03/2012 15:02

Yeah, I'm going to invest in some maternity tights I think

TashPenguin · 08/03/2012 22:39

Thanks guys everything form 10weeks to 35weeks so i guess will get a bump when it happens. feeling quite good today as only felt sick for half and hour so things seem to be getting better. xx

I just put my bump out there as only in the last week or so it has become visibly a pregnancy rather than just me looking like I've eaten a lot. I'm 17+5 with first :) Up til now though I just looked podgey!
