Does anyone have any experience of giving birth here? This is where I'll be in 7 weeks time (fingers crossed) and just wondered if there is anything I should be aware of?

I've heard its quite good, I've heard you get your own room after having the baby, I chose bassetlaw, worksop however as I had my first born there

I'm being induced there on 19th March so I'll let you know! Friend had her baby there before xmas and said facilities great but very short staffed. Was disappointed you can't go for tour (virtual tour is rubbish!) but been happy with AN care so far.

Hope everything went well for you lisakell.

Hi Louisa
Just got out of hospital with my gorgeous little boy! Had a long week - 3 days of failed inductions followed by an emergency caesarian but he came out in the end. Had a great experience at Kings Mill, own room for induction then onto a small ward with 4 beds after birth - didn't like sharing but that was because I was there for 3 nights, most people only stay 1 night. The quality of care from the midwives was excellent - they are so helpful and supportive I honestly don't believe I would have got better care anywhere in the private sector. Everyone I dealt with from consultants and surgeon for my c-section to the tea ladies were great - endlessly patient and really helpful when trying to breastfeed, lots of advice and encouragement. When I was feeling a bit low and wanting to go home they were happy to just have a cuppa and chat with me to keep my spirits up. I hope your experience is as positive as mine was - good luck!
