Not many movements and those I can feel are very faint

I'm 22 weeks today with my second baby. I know I have an anterior placenta from my 20 week scan (which was all totally normal).

I would have expected to feel more movement/stronger movement by now but perhaps I'm expecting too much given the position of the placenta. My first child was different - kicked earlier and stronger but placenta wasn't anterior.

Anyone in the same boat?

I didn't feel any strong movement until about 24 weeks. Even now at 27 it's only the occasional bump or wriggle I thinks everyone is different :)

I was when I was at your stage (I'm 37 weeks now). Also have anterior placenta and like you felt more, stronger kicks with my first pg, which was not an anterior placenta.

I'd keep an eye on the movements, but agree that with an anterior placenta, at this stage, it wouldn't be unusual to not feel many kicks and for those you do feel to be faint.

However, if you're worried at any stage, you can either try the drinking / eating something sugary and lying down trick to see if that does anything, or call your mw. I've found that the mws will normally be able to fit you in for an extra go with the Doppler to put your mind at rest.

Good luck Smile

Oh, and I also got to 27 / 28 weeks before I was getting enough regular kicks that felt strong for me.

Thank you! :)

I do tend to feel them more when I'm resting (not often with a 2 year old!) so I'm fairly reassured it's all okay but occasionally it bothers me. I'm seeing MW soon, so I'll get checked out then.

thanks for your reassurance.
