my skin was glorious last week, perfect complexion lovely skin tone, fast forward now my boobs skin has gone wrinkly and crepy, when i take my bra off to get a shower half a ton of dead skin falls out, my bells the same flakes everywhere, my oh is not impressed when i showed him (although im meant to be amazed when his toe nail fungus cleared up...yuck!).

is this normal, ive used bio oil all the way through im only 26 weeks so still a while to go and its getting warmer 1 day im going to have to bare my arms and theyll just be bone cos all the skin will of fallen off!

The skin on my face has a tendency to look like this in pregnancy, looks even worse with makeup on!

blondiep14 · 08/03/2012 19:05

Mine did this with DS2.
I liked Burts Bees oil, that was nice and thick and stuck some skin back one! I'd slap some on whilst damp then put E45 on top. It helped a bit but not loads to be honest.

This happened to me on all my fingers and thumbs but not my hands weirdly! It settled down by the third trimester but was pretty disgusting flaking skin everywhere! Hope yours settles down too!

Midwife told me it was due to hormones and there wasn't really anything I could do to stop it.

Ah well, at least im not some freak of nature then, Its still annoying to have to take my bra off to get a shower without having to clean up half my dead skin in the process, ive tried bio oil in the bath today, then i got out rubbed more on my skin, then when that had dried i rubbed in cocoa butter, and still my stomach is deadly white from the peeling skin!

And me too! The only place I am dry as the desert in the face.. Removing leggings looks like I am throwing confettis...
The worse are my nipples, flaky and itchy. Really uncomfortable. I resort putting 8 hour cream on them, sometimes twice a day.

Vix, me too. I have eczema on my feet. My face is as dry as the sahara and my hands look like a pensioners....

I've gone and bought Aveeno as heard it's good. Even bio oil wasn't working.

Sockspence · 08/03/2012 21:05

Is it because your norks are growing? That's why I thought mine were doing this very same delightful thing. And the itch :(

"Removing leggings looks like I am throwing confettis" [GRIN]

Scarlett is the aveeno working? im willing to try anything at the moment, i have a bathroom full of products to rival boots but nothing seems to keep my skin in place. My scalp is the latest to start shedding itself, i swear by the time i give birth ill just be a big bone with organs falling everywhere.

I thought it was because im getting bigger, so therefore skin was stretching etc, but my boobs look really crepey if thats even a word, like an old ladies neck and chest when shes lived her life in the sun, dont understand it at all, shouldnt they be smoothed out and stretched if theyre getting larger??

I've had this - REALLY hate it. It makes me feel like I'm never quite clean, shedding skin everywhere whenever an item of clothing comes off!

Only thing that works for me is Dove's rich moisturising creme - specifically the one in the blue & white pot

(eg www.superdrug.com/dove/dove-rich-creme-pot-30ml/invt/318205/?source=179_75 )

It's incredibly thick and rich; works a treat.

vix1980 · 09/03/2012 13:13

Oooh for 99p ill definitely try some of that! my latest try was dead sea magic bath salts and then the rich moisturiser this morning, just looked at my belly though and its made a dramatic comeback in only 2 hours, thanks for the link!
