Someone at work guessed last week and I asked her to not tell anyone as got scan tomorrow and I wanted to tell boss first before everyone else knew (obviously - right??)

Anyway I walk into work today and get a few congrats.... groan. I'm obviously all ooo thank you etc but secretly seething.

I quickly email boss to tell him the news (we work in a couple of offices and no idea where he will be one day to the next so couldnt really tell him to his face).

Anyway about an hour later he comes in and I go up to him and ask if he got my email. He says yes. That's is. Yes. In a really odd, grumpy way. Really wierd.

Cue awkward few seconds of silence.

I walk off.

:(

Oh bloody hell.

I feel like crap.

@ahhhhhpushittt

when i was pregnant 6 months ago i had a misscarriage at 3 months in december, i did not tell my employer abt pregnancy up till when i was misscarrying and that too because i was due in at work and cudnt make it (obviously).when i went back after almost a week he pulled me aside and said that me getting pregnant will affect my job and that he couldnt afford to give me maternity leave blah blah blah blah and he would just go on and on on on on whenever he found me on my own, he was so inconsiderate and still is.
he asked me to to be HONEST with him if im planning a family because he'll have to arrange for someonelse which is very INCONVENIENT for HIM!!!

but hey guess what im 4 weeks preg again and im not planning on telling him untill i feel i have to, i luv the fact that i know it will annoy him sooo much when he gets to find out but he cant fire me on the basis that im pregnant.

miserable bosses can go to hell as far as i care

p.s cant wait for our little bundle of joy to arrive :) x x x

Hpbp · 16/03/2012 10:07

Sammywamm, I bet you will not miss this a%#}*~ when you will be on maternity leave, how can he behave and say things like that ? This is so unprofessional. He is thinking about himself first, inconvenient for him ?! How cares...? Let us know what his face is like when you break the news in a few weeks time. Congrats on the pg.

Hobs · 16/03/2012 10:24

I wouldn't take the reaction personally. Maybe have a word with him. He could be a bit :( you didn't tell him in person, or it could be nothing to do with you.

One of my boss's was over the moon for me, the other said not a word to me but cc'd me into an email meant for HR asking what impact this would have on his budget for the year.

Hobs · 16/03/2012 10:41

Oh! I've just seen your update! I'm glad it was all ok in the end :)

Archemedes · 16/03/2012 10:47

Thats shocking valium did u report her?

Congratulations btw,

I would have perhaps told in person rather than email.

aaahhhBump · 16/03/2012 14:04

OMG! I thought mine was crap but valiums takes the Biscuit.

Started my two weeks annual leave today prior to my Mat Leave starting. So I won't be back until 2nd of April 2013.

30 minutes to go she came down to the clinic I was in and asked if she could have a word. What do you think it was about? She hasn't once asked how I am, how any of my antinatal appointments have gone or actually done a risk assesment so it wasn't to say cheerio and thanx for all the hard work.

She had been notified by a doctor that I had been on a shopping website over two month ago and that she would go over the internet usage policy with me when I come back to work.

Do they have special training to be this crappy?

valiumpoptarts · 18/03/2012 19:42

Sorry, only just saw the responses! I kinda sucked it in (swore at her constantly behind her back) for months until she messed with my appraisal, which would have meant I didn't get a piss poor payrise and would have been at risk of redundancy so I politely mentioned the words sexual discrimination and hey ho she changed her mind! She was still an utter bitch until I left but thankfully she got the chop while I was away :)
I can only presume they must get training to be this crap!
