jaylee89 Trust me, if it worked, I wouldn't have succumbed to induction at 42+1 with DD and would be planning on giving birth next Wednesday when I get to 37w with DC2 Wink

ha ha ha! yes i agree flisspaps but the midwife was convinced thats what did it!
its very frustrating and i absolutely hated the waiting but i honestly think nothing works and babies will just come when they are ready...

Some great advice from StarlightMcKenzie. Hope she won't mind me reposting it:

Okay, here are my very best tips.

When your BH start again this evening (Which they very likely will do) your task is to keep them going. You can do this by getting your love hormone going. Sex is an option, but tbh I could absolutely NOT face it at your stage so try these things:

Sit on the loo (it opens your pelvis) and read some erotic novels/poems, or the sexy bits of some chic lit. Eat anything that makes you go 'Yum' and think of things that make you want to say 'Mmmmmmmm'. (I don't mean you to actually EAT on the loo btw'.

Every now and then, walk up and down the stairs sideways. This shakes the baby into position and a lower position.

If you simply 'hope' that the BH will progress, this will make you anxious and get your adrenaline going which will work against your 'love hormones' which you need in abundance.

Change the sheets on your bed too. When you slide into clean sheets this should also make you go 'Mmmmmm' and try to get you something to get your head or body bubbling like and indian head massage or reflexology or whatever.

Don't do ANYTHING that doesn't make you go 'Mmmmmmm'."

THANK YOU FLISSPAPS! I'm going to copy that big post and use it whenever the next idiot suggests I try this this and this to get my labour going! Angry Why will nobody accept that if their was a reliable method of inducing labour it would (a) be banned before 37 weeks and (b) mean that nobody went overdue and needed medically inducing!

Thanks

Poultry You are welcome :)

May I also offer this website as a handy link to use as a facebook status or Twitter update for anyone with nosy and annoying well meaning people who phone or text on a hourly daily basis to ask if there is any news?

leftwing I think that should be a motto for life

"don't do anything that doesn't make you go MMMMMMM"
