Anxious....

I'm 8 weeks pregnant with DC2 and unlike the first time am so anxious about it. I'm just praying all will be well, whereas with DC1 I was very confident all would go well (and thankfully it did).
I had a doctors appointment at 6 weeks, was told the MW would contact me and that the hospital would independently send through a scan date, as I'm sure happened last time, but haven't heard anything. I have chased and the MW is off sick so another note has been left for her replacement to call me on Tuesday. I would have thought I would have got a scan date through by now though, definitely did first time round by 8 weeks. Its all contributing to me being over anxious though!
I'm feeling very sick - more at night which is a new one for me! - so at least I'm still having symptoms....

Congratulations! Grin

I think we have a blissful ignorance first time around, as its all new we can use the time in the early weeks reading/absorbing and learning about all the exciting things to come.

And before we know it scans/appointments etc begin making it all that more real.

Fast forward to number 2, we know all the early development stuff that consumed our time and now we fill that time with anxious waiting for each milestone to tick off the list!

That new awareness and experience, I think is your maternal instincts and of course hormones surging around that put you in a heightened state of paranoia, you know whats to come I think its very normal as you are more aware of the little miracle that is happening and just crave that confirmation that all is well.

Its frustrating especially waiting for those early appointments that make it all real, try not to let it overtake you, enjoy each stage, I am 35 weeks with what will be my last baby (no 4!) and I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has flown!

Good luck x Grin
