Pain during sex and have low lying placenta - sorry if TMI

I am 27 weeks pregnant and have a low lying placenta. I wasn't told to avoid sex by my midwife due to the issue so we have carried on. However, the last few weeks (apologies if too much info now...) when he has entered me, it is so painful, it feels like (apologies again!) he has sandpaper wrapped around his penis, it feels really sore during and immediately after but then is fine the rest of the time. Could this be due to my low lying placenta or something else?

Try using lubricant next time because it might be vaginal dryness. TMI from me - I'm 29 weeks and have to us loads because sex is just too uncomfortable without it.

I thought of that but (apologies) am not dry at all, plus it hurts if he even touches me there before even getting inside.

Ouch! That does sound uncomfortable.
Hope someone comes soon who knows what it could be :)
