Currently waiting to be induced so stuck on ETG in hospital and just keep panicking about the heart beat.Does anyone else hate listening to it...I just keep feeling it slow down-so not reassuring:(

If you are in hospital, I am sure if there was a problem an alarm would go off on the monitor and a nurse would come over :)

Hope all goes well for you :) Is this your first child?

Is it just changing a few beats at a time, so like 140, 142, 145, 148, 140 etc? My baby's heart rate is always slightly irregular like this but the midwife tells me that's healthy. I would ring the buzzer and ask one of the midwives, no good you being worried over it if they can put your mind at rest. Good luck with the induction x

Thank you ladies:) went down to 90 or so on the last graph- really hate this.Trying tO keep as still as poss too is hard work...Yep first baby so very anxious and all thoughts of natural labour seem to be slipping away-sorry this is very self-indulgent.Will think positive thoughts now...heartbeat seems a bit more regular now though high 160 or so. Thanks again

Try not to worry about it but do call for a midwife if you are worried. It will start beeping crazily if anything is irregular, I'm monitored once a week and it jumps from 140 to 160 most of the time! If the baby's moving as well, or if you move, that can cause the heart rate to jump a bit.

Good luck with your induction Smile
