Anyone used the 10miu/ml sensitivity tests off Ebay?

I was due on yesterday so I thought I should probably do a test just incase. The first one I did I thought there was a faint line, so I decided to do 2 more (using the same first morning urine - they are the dipstick kind) I read the results after 5 minutes so I didn't think it could be an evaporation line or that I'd left it too long. However on the other 2 I can't see anything. I've took a picture on my phone of the first, but it's not very good quality.

Does that mean the faint line I can see on the first doesn't mean anything? Surely if I'm using the exact same tests, with the exact same urine, they should all come up with faint lines if the first was a true positive?

The 10miu/ml are very sensitive. However each pregnancy test has slightly different sensitivity so the same urine may show up differently. When I have first had a positive it has been so faint I have had to hold it in a certain position and light to see it and I thought it could be my imagination. However, as the amount of HCG in the urine increases over the next few days it will get darker if you retest again. Did you use first morning urine? In the early days that can really make a difference as to whether you see a line or not.

Yes I did use first morning urine. So 10 is the min sensitivity but some might be say 7 or 8?

I used those tests but from Amazon. I bought a lot as i had an etopic November 2010 without any pregnancy symptoms which worried me as i was then rushed into emergancy surgery!!

Anyway!! I used these and got a line fairly quickly when i tested the day AF was due. I did 2 tests that morning and another one the next day and got lines with all of them.

I would still try again tomorrow though and see if it's any darker.

Good luck :)

Wete you pregnant or were they false positives?

Exactly Nappyaddict - maybe you got one that was very sensitive and two that were less so. The HCG doubles every 48 hours in the early days so you should be out of that borderline stage pretty soon if you are actually pregnant. Good luck!

Nappy you don't generally get false positives unless you get evaporation lines. It is possible to get a faint line that doesn't get darker and eventually goes negative which is a chemical pregnancy but if you see a genuine line it does mean there is enough HCG in your system to be detected. (The only exception is if you have fertility treatment and they give you HCG to support a pregnancy.) If it is definitely a faint line then the chances are you are pregnant.....

Hi there! I seem to be in a similar sort of quandary! I tested today cd 24 of a 28 day cycle with a superdrug test: BFN. Is this to be trusted? Had a smiley OPK 14 days ago. Reason for needing this vital info- best friend's hen do tonight! REALLY wanted to drink...but not sure whether this test result is to be trusted or not?! Help!!!!

TheNewMrsC · 02/03/2012 12:07

nappy have you tested again ?

wishing just go and enjoy yourself . If you get your BFP afterwards it won't do any hard baba doesn't share bloodstream so early afaik hthSmile

MrsDore · 02/03/2012 12:07

Me again :)

I tested in september 8 days after a positive ov test as i had a hen do and it was negative and i got my BFP 15 days after ov so i would say 14 days after should give an accurate reading but can't be 100%.

nappyaddict · 02/03/2012 16:55

Have tested again this afternoon. 1 faint line about the same faintness as yesterday, 1 negative.

With my last few cycles my period's come on

CD 71 (70 days)
CD 28 (27 days)
CD 30 (29 days)
CD19 (18 days)
CD 15 (14 days)
I'm now on CD 34.

I really hope I'm not in for another 70 day cycle!!

Hi Nappyaddict. I used the same tests back in November. I took a million pictures and stared at it until my eyes made the faintest of lines disappear. Eventually I just went out and got a CB digi which told me 'pregnant'!

I was surprised as I know they aren't very sensitive and my AF was only due that day. I guess it depends on how impatient you are. If possible, give it another couple of days and try again. If you're like me and like to waste spend money then maybe a CB digi could be worth go? Don't be disappointed if neg tho - they're notorious for that.

nappyaddict · 05/03/2012 11:11

What seller did you get yours from oggy?

Mine were from post2u. I'm wondering if they are duff. The listing said they were NHS ones but they weren't on the NHS page.

I have been told since if you are buying off Ebay to buy off the seller "HomeHealth UK" as they are genuine NHS suppliers.

(They also trade under fertilityplan on Ebay)

Oh I couldn't tell you to be honest. I asked to have the feedback deleted from my history as I didn't want people to see that I was trying! I didn't do too much research in to them. I think I just picked a load that seemed best value at the time because I know what I'm like and would be peeing on them every 2 minutes!

Sorry!
