I'm confused as to how to work out how far along i am. i have a long cycle (40 days) do i count from day of period or from conception and add 2 weeks?

Nhs online have a calculator where you put in date of lmp and length of cycle and it gives edd

You always count from day of last period....so in effect you are already 2 weeks preg by the time you ovulate. It sounds illogical but that's the way it is. You'll get an accurate date based on ultrasound scan.
Congratulations

I would use a pregnancy calculator like the Mumsnet one which you can adjust for the length of your cycle.

I never got the hang of this - it seems to be all voodoo to me! To begin with the midwife goes from the first day of your last period, but then once you have your dating scan, they change it based on growth patterns. Try This

I take conception and add 2 because my cycles are 45 days and pregnancy calculators don't like that.

But you can be out a bit unless you are absolutely certain when the sperm met the egg which could be a number of days after you had sex.

Hi, there exists a special calculator which can help you to count the due date as for instance this one saymommy.com/due-date-calculator/ hope it'll help you, good luck!!!
