my son is 6 months and i had a pretty horrific experience with the hospital when i went into labour. the actual birth was lovely though. i also had crap aftercare from midwife. wont go into boring details unless anyone thinks it will help but it was horrndous.
im still upset about it all now.
when will i get over it?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Have you spoken to anyone or made a formal complaint at all? Also - without knowing the details, is it possible that you could have PND? I know when I had it I tended to focus on one thing and blame that for the way I was feeling, when in fact it was the depression. Just a thought...

have you told the hospital? they often have a patient liason service you can give feedback to.

i had a horrible experience of aftercare too. i'd signed up for a research study though and when the midwife came to complete the interview for that when ds was 9 or so months i was able to offload. helped enormously.

or maybe talk to your hv?

ShaysMummy · 28/01/2006 23:56

yeah, ive had it apparently. im off the tablets and feel fine about everything else i was upset/worrying about, still this crap sticks in my mind though. just this.
i wrote a really long letter but somehow it didnt get to the hosp. we had a report in our local paper saying the hosp was so inundated with complaints about different things you didnt get a reply or anything anyway.
