Michelin man hands and feet

I'm nearly 30 weeks and my hands and feet have kindly decided to swell up to sausage proportions!
By the end of the day they actually hurt.
I'm drinking lots, but does anyone know of anything else that can help relieve the pressure?
TIA!!

First question: have you told your midwife? Swelling up hands/feet can be an indication of a problem (or not, it could just be one of those things, but you need to have tests to check).

Aside from that, try to take it easy, sit down, put your feet up or lie down when you can.

miss, please get checked out by your MW. Swelling of hands is more concerning than feet - as Mrs says, it could be a sign of pre-eclampsia.

Just reiterating what Mrs and Fish have said, please get it checked out because it could be a sign of pre-eclampsia. Either contact your midwife or phone the maternity day assessment unit in your local hospital, they will probably ask you to go in to have your urine and blood checked, and to check movements.

If it is not pre-eclampsia, the only other things to do is to drink water, cut down on salts and processed food, and try to keep your feet elevated and at a low temperature as much as possible. I feel your pain, I've been back and forth the hospital every week after midwife appt because of this and know how much it hurts!
