Hurts to turn over at night

Hi, I'm 17 weeks pregnant with dc2. Last two nights I've noticed it hurts to turn over from my back to side at night. I have like a cramping pain across my abdomen. It feels like trapped wind almost. I know you're not really meant to lie on your back but I sometimes end up there without meaning to. Anyone else had this?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I had this. They dismissed it. Turned out after I gave birth that I had had a placenta bleed. Midwife told me only reason baby was ok was because placenta was so thick. Get checked out. Insist you have checks. Xx

Yes the same thing happened to me the other night. I ended up 'beached' on my back cos if I tried to turn to either side I got a sharp pain on that side. Felt more like muscular pain to me though and it didn't last long. I suffered quite a bit with abdominal pains earlier on in my pregnancy ( I'm 27 weeks now ), the MW said it was just my ligaments etc stretching and said it was probably worse as I was quite fit so my muscles were harder. I still end up sleeping on my back a bit too, like you said I just end up there, sometimes its the only position I can lie in where my back/ribs don't hurt.

I had / have this too - midwife also said it was the ligaments being pulled as they tried to support all my weight (is it wrong to feel sorry for my poor ole ligaments?!)

I am 36 weeks though, maybe mention it to midwife so she can check you over and reassure you?
