I don't know, but I think maybe she turned out to be a troll? Not sure, I might be wrong.

Alligatorpie · 28/02/2012 04:08

There were a few heated discussions about her, but I don't think she was a troll. I think she decided to keep the baby. I really hope she gets some support. Pregnant and alone sounds like a scary place to be.

littlemissnormal · 28/02/2012 10:27

Mumsnet deleted the entire thread. I think they found her posting on lots of different sites with contradicting information. Some she'd kept the baby I think and none of it added up.
There was a long thread on it in AIBU which explains it all.

my2centsis · 28/02/2012 16:35

O I think I may try and find it! Thanks :)

OP posts:
JambalayaCodfishPie · 28/02/2012 16:59

Mumsnet deleted because it wasn't 'as it seemed'. They were pretty convinced and even joined the follow-up thread to explain their actions as a lot of people refused to believe what was being suggested.

justlemonade · 28/02/2012 18:13

littlemiss is do you have a link to it?

surfmama · 28/02/2012 18:21

oh i don't understand this. am i too naive? why would someone make that up? I did get an odd feeling about it, but would always give someone the benefit of the doubt, some people must have pm'd the OP and surely they would have smelt a rat? anyone?

SoozyWoozy · 28/02/2012 18:44

I'm glad you asked, I wanted to but still being the new girl I wasn't sure if I should... I had followed the thread but hadn't commented on it, and the last time I read it there was a comment from MNHQ about keeping an eye on things so when it disappeared I thought it couldn't have been quite as it seemed so they'd deleted it.

my2centsis · 28/02/2012 19:17

i looked through quite a few pages but cant seem to find it, does anyone have a link?

[nosey emotion]

iloveberries · 28/02/2012 20:06

i saw the second thread - looked like she was a troll.

i don't get WHY someone would do that. weeeeiiiird

MrsHoolie · 28/02/2012 20:12

I wasn't expecting it to be deleted and I didn't think she was a troll.
Maybe MNHQ might find this thread and explain?

SharkBite · 28/02/2012 20:15

See here in Site Stuff

SharkBite · 28/02/2012 20:16

If you want MNHQ to see something you need to report your own post and highlight it to them as i'm not sure the 'hope MNHQ might find this thread' is unlikely.

SoozyWoozy · 28/02/2012 21:00

Thanks SharkBite

The link made for interesting reading... particularly the bit about how to spot trolls. I am still new here, and reading the posts about newbies / trolls / how & where they post actually got me a bit worried that people who have used this site for some time may not reply to my posts as a newbie in case I'm a troll (which I am not, of course!) All very complicated, and actually now finding MN quite a difficult place to fit in to Confused

SharkBite · 28/02/2012 21:05

Soozy, i joined when pregnant so got onto an Antenatal thread for DC due in a certain month. Since then i have also been on a couple of weightloss threads so have 'met' loads of people.

I am better on these type of threads which have some longevity, and then pop on a few others as and when. Telly addicts ones are usually quite good fun or thought provoking depending on the subject.

Have you found a 'corner' you like yet?

MN is a FANTASTIC resource when you need answers to, well, pretty much anything Grin. Stick around Smile

SoozyWoozy · 28/02/2012 21:10

It was fantastic for support while going through the horror of high risk screening at 12w. I posted in pregnancy, someone (kindly) suggested the post was better in the ANC choices bit, I posted there but didn't get a huge amount of replies. The support actually came from me saying 'I'm in the same position' on someone elses thread. That time has fortunately passed, so I guess I'm a bit of a random poster / luker type. Which makes me wonder if that, by posting randomly, I look like a troll. Although what I've posted about is nothing emotive or unusual, so maybe not! Its all so complicated :o

Maryz speaks a lot of sense and is wonderful on Primary school threads Smile

I namechange loads, so probably look like a newbie a lot. Never (knowingly) been mistaken for a troll though!

SoozyWoozy · 28/02/2012 21:27

Makes total sense, thank you :)

I think I am guilty of a lot of hijacking though....

Time for bed said zebedee My RL is currently very stressful, so atm MN is a world away, which is where I'd like to be :)

I have never actually started a thread in Primary Education, but read a lot, trying to get to grips with phonics as DD1's school provides little communication as to what they are actually doing.

The sounds-write resources you recommend have been fab in giving me phonics knowledge. As a child of the 70's i just 'learnt to read'. No idea how though Grin
