what does it feel like when your waters break.....?

so this is my 3rd and i have not had an experience of waters breaking so have no idea what it feels like. I have just been to the toilet and have a massive wet patch in my pants....bigger than what would be 'general pregnancy discharge' or a urine leakage...
I have had tender boobs today and now feel a bit zoned out spacey.
I can feel baby moving but it is very low down like its fists are in my hip its very uncomfortable and there is a lot of pressure down below.
what should i do? Help!

oh just to add i am currently 34 + 3 and my waters went with DD at 34 + 6 10 months ago.......but i never realised they did!!

put a pad on Lie down for 10 mins then sit up, if there is a gush its your waters, then ring your hospital and get yourself in, if not and your unhappy i would ring triage unit and see what they suggest, i didn't feel my waters go but when they went they went in a gush.

Don't remember the smell, but I heard a distinct pop then a gush of water, sat up, more water, stood up, more water, shuffled squelched to the loo, more leakage. Seemed that everytime I moved I had another little leak! I went to the hospital for monitoring and when I got home I was still leaking, four hours after they went!

Mine went during the night and, although I didn't actually feel anything happen like a 'pop', I did wake up a split second before it happened (this happened with both my children).

It was then exactly as WitchofEndor described...every time I moved I leaked/gushed, every time I coughed I leaked/gushed....

IIRC it didn't smell of anything and was clear.

Possibly being gross, but, if it smell like semen, it's waters. Given your history, I'd ring labour ward.

I felt like I needed a wee very urgently. Then it was a constant trickle. Waters are meant to be clear or pale yellow. No idea what they smell like though sorry.

I think given your history I'd ring the midwife as they will be able to check. Mine went as I started to push both times and babies born a couple of mins after!

Apparently it smells a bit like bleach can't say I've ever sniffed mine though! They were broken first time, second time they went with an unmistakeable gush and third time they didn't break until I was pushing!

Mine smelled like bleach, I've only had them go once before labour began and it was during the night, woke up feeling a trickling, thought I had pee'd myself until I saw it was pink with mucus in. The other times were in labour, one went with a big pop and gush as I was walking through the doors to the labour ward, the 3rd were broken by the midwife and trickled and the 4th went as I was pushing about 5 seconds before baby was born, they sprayed everywhere with the pressure, lol.

Totally unlike the movies. If I had been on film there would have been men of surf boards!

Mine broke in 3out of 4 pregnancies just before labour started. Mine smelt quite strongly of semen to the extent that I felt somewhat embarrassed first time. Felt as if I smelt like sex if that makes sense. Other than that, as others have mentioned; initial gush then lots of other gushes each time I moved position.

Heard pop but didn't actually feel anything other than the wet. No physical sensation in the way you get with weeing, if that makes sense.

Felt, heard and smelt nothing, just had puddles in my shoes all of a sudden (walking down high street)!

My car seat never recovered from the drive home from town . . .

Mine smelled like sugar puffs!! It felt like I'd peed myself - luckily I was on the toilet at the time! Good luck OP!
