Ds1 is 5 and Ds2 is 7 months, and just found out I'm pregnant again!

I'm really excited and happy but already worrying how I'll cope with 2 so young.

Please give me some reassuring words of wisdom and your experiences!!

I did exactly the same thing and now due in a few weeks! Watching with interest.,. Congratulations btw!

PositiveAttitude · 25/02/2012 06:49

Congratulations!! Its great!!! They will grow up together and always have each other. I wont say its not hard work, but it is worth it.
We have 5 DC with less than 6 years between eldest and youngest (no twins). Eldest 2 and youngest 2 have 15 months between them each. Never experienced the jealousy of the older sibling when the baby came along, either.

I know I am biased, but its brilliant. The hardest part for me was when I was pregnant and had a baby, too.

Good Luck Smile

Congratulations!!
My DS1 was 5 months when I was PG with DC2, and DC2 was 18 months when PG with DC3 and DC3 is now 3.5 while I'm PG with DC4. We have our days as everyone does but I wouldn't change it for the world :)

The early days are a bit of a haze TBH but we managed somehow and now that they are no longer babies they are the best of friends (and enemies at time) -- it seems to get easier as they get older.

As previous poster said too, the hardest part for me was being PG, even now am struggling simply because i'm not feeling great but the actual having all kids close together is fab.

Wishing you all the very best!
Lovely news, congrats again. :)

It's tiring but fab. We have 5 kids in 4 years (2 sets of twins). They get along well the majority of the time :-)

Hi
I am 34 weeks pregnant and my DD is 10 months. I fell pregnant 6 weeks after birth!!!
I am excited but i know its going to be hard....
Congrats!!!! :)

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 25/02/2012 21:45

Wow riamay - you don't mess about.

How have you found being pregnant with such a small baby? And can you carry your baby with a bump? My Ds2 is a little giant and weighs a ton! Worried about the physical side of it as wells everything else.

And good luck! Not long now have you x

Im not going to lie, in the later stages of my pregnancy its been hard.....
I can carry her but it kills my back! Plus she Still wakes in the night and teething was hard....

I know theyre going to grow up together and it will be great! My dh is great too....

I fell pregnant when DS was 4 months old (expecting DC2 in July) so they'll have a 13 month age gap, which I am shitting myself about dreading!

Carrying DS around has been ok up 'til now (18 weeks in) as my arms seem to have stepped up to the challenge - upper abdomen does hurt a bit after a while if I carry him too long though. Actually I think that I'd be more worried if he was around 1yr old, because he'd be that much heavier and still want to be carried; at least if your current baby is small they're not hard to lift!!

My main challenge has been to stop DS kicking me in the stomach when he sits on my lap :(

mammyemcbe · 27/02/2012 10:51

It's not all bad . My dc1 was 7 months when I got pregnant with dc2 and dc2 was 6 weeks when I got pregnant with dc3 Blush it's tiring but I found because you're still in the baby routine it doesn't seem so hard . There was a 4 year gap between dc3 and dc4 and I found that gap hard to deal with, back to no sleep and everything you need to lug around Wink
I can't be too bad though because dc4 was 5 months when we got pregnant with dc5 and dc5 is now 2years and I'm 31 weeks gone Blush . This is definitely it though Grin good luck just remember get plenty of rest as tough as it sounds .

ecstatica · 27/02/2012 11:16

mammyemcbe :):) Amazing!!! I am in absolute awe! Hat off to you. I thought 4 under 6.5 would be a handful but that has made me sweat would love to hear a day in the life with your routine great stuff and congrats on your pregnancy :)

xkatyx · 27/02/2012 12:44

Hi I fell pregnant when my baby was 3 months old, found out it was twins so 3 babies under 1.

I also have 2 older children 5,8.

I Also agree with pregnancy being hardest part!!! It isn't all bad and all u will need is to plan in advance and a routine :)

TinkerMaloo · 27/02/2012 13:14

and there was me panicking about DD going to be almost 2 when DC3 is born in september! (DS is 8 now so totally self sufficient lol)

hats off to all of you on this thread! :)

its so reassuring to hear that being pregnant and coping with young one(s) is harder than when they are all out in the big wide world!

Gumby · 27/02/2012 13:16

you have to be very careful to give the older child - your 5 year old a lot of attnetion as the younger two will be s demanding you'll need time to lsten to your school age child read etc.get ready for school in time etc

ShipShapeBristolFashion · 27/02/2012 13:29

Congratulations!! I fell pregnant with DC2 when DC1 was 5 months old. Although it wasn't planned that way, if I had my time again I wouldn't change a thing. They are 3 and nearly 2 now and are really good buddies. Like many others here, the hardest part for me was being pregnant while looking after a baby, but it's all worked out wonderfully well. Expecting DC3 shortly...

Try not to worry - it will all work out much better than you expect.

I thought I was going to have my hands full with 3 under the age of 4, but that sounds like a breeze compared to some of you!

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 27/02/2012 13:57

I've got an 18 month gap between DD and DS and I agree with the others, it's lovely. I found the pregnancy to be the hardest bit, too.

Sjwestonmccarthy · 18/12/2022 00:56

Hi I’ve got the same my daughter is 7 months old and I’ve just found out I am pregnant again.
I am full of mixed emotions

Oh wow, I dimly remember this thread - I'm one of the previous posters. I can confirm 10 years on that we're all getting along well and that being able to share clothes between basically the same-size siblings is super convenient 😂
