Dry skin

Looking for some advice.
I am 24 weeks with number 2 and have been suffering from really dry skin on my face, particularly my forehead.
I've been using different moisturisers and drinking LOADS of water but nothing seems to make a difference.
My main problem is that my ds (4) loves swimming and as my bumps pretty huge it's nice to feel weightless in the water but it makes my skin so much worse. Does anyone know of a barrier cream I could use in the pool?

I think the only barrier cream would be Vaseline.

I have dry skin and I've tried all the lotions, creams and potions going.

For me the best thing is either palmers cocoa butter or Vaseline intensive care for extra dry skin.

Good luck with your pregnancy !

how is your fat intake? If you aren't taking in enough fat, your skin will also dry out, it's not just a water thing. It doesn't mean you need to take oil supplements, just make sure you're getting a decent amount of decent quality oil /fat in your diet. Eat more nuts and seeds if you like them, have the dressing etc - or if you really can't bear the thought, then go for the oil capsule supplements instead. The baby will be stealing your fatty acids to make its own nerves and cells so you need to keep replenishing them as well. Coconut oil is an alternative supplement to fish oil capsules, or you could even use that as a moisturiser on your face - if you get an unrefined coconut oil, it is generally pretty good for your health as well.

Vaseline, as a petroleum based product, will make an effective barrier to the chlorinated water but is likely to add to your dry skin problems.
Neutrogena hand cream may work a little better, that's quite a good barrier cream, I used to find.

Good luck, hope you find something that works for you. :)
