Hi, I was seen by my midwife on Monday when I was 31+4 and was found to be measuring 36 weeks. Sent for a growth/fluid scan the next day which found baby to be on the 75th centile and fluid levels to be more than expected but not dangerous. Forward to today when an appointment with my consultant has measured me at 41 weeks and my bump is very stretched and hard. I am having another scan in the morning and a GTT test as glucose in urine. My consultant has said that my waters could go at any time as my uterus is at capacity so I am now terrified. I will be seeing him again tomorrow. Does anybody have any experience of this and if so how early did your baby arrive? Thanks in advance for any advice that can be offered.

Hi

This happened to me but it was rare why I had so much fluid, so I won't bore you with it Wink

However excess fluid, or polyhydramnios at we call it can be due to a number of reasons and this can be due to gestational diabetes, which is why you have the gtt booked.

In my case I had some fluid (4.5 litres in total) drained off. They may offer this if you need it.
