OK, what's this weird pressure in my bum all the time...??

So, I'm now 36 weeks, I think I've been having Braxton Hicks on and off (not sure, but bump does go very hard from time to time) but the thing that's bothering me is I've had a weird crampy pressure in my lower stomach that's making me feel like I need a poo the whole time (I don't). It's kinda going from above the pelvic bone and pressing right down into my bottom. I'm certainly not having contractions - I know feeling like you need a poo can actually be the urge to push! - but it lasts all day and it's actually really uncomfortable.

Could this be the baby's head engaging? Or a sign that it's gone back-to-back? It's also been crazily active for the last couple of days (coinciding with the pressure) which is making me wonder if it's got itself into some new, weird position in there...

Any ideas?!

I am having this, my baby was 3/5th engaged before I had the visible drop in my bump so I think the baby is engaged and squirming!

Thanks purple I'm glad it's not just me! At last MW appt I don't think it was engaged at all, so it would be good if that's what it was. Although my legs aren't being forced apart as I was led to believe they would be. Are you having the 'bowling ball in fanjo' experience? Wink

Hello I had just as you describe im 34 weeks and thought baby could be back to back had a scan yesterday and baby is head down not back to back but v low so they thought that was the cause and that as this is number 2 it could engage and pop back out?! Xx

Thanks Ems - sounds like it could be it then! I'm assuming it can stay engaged for a few weeks before labour though?? Too early!!

Yes it can be engaged weeks previous especially in second babies and pop in and out and anytime from 37 weeks if fine for the buba to come but yes v early for me yet but I was a week to 2 weeks early with my first (a,week by scan but mudwife and doctor that delivered say due to so much waxy stuff she had to be at lesdt 2 weeks early) so they say this one should be early too fingers crossed. Xx
