Pregnancy Tests

I've been googling pregnancy tests A LOT. I find myself addicted to them while TTC and I'm sure a lot of you do too...

I just thought maybe we could have a thread about what test you got your BFP on, and at how many DPO. And which ones gave you a negative after / around the same time.

I used a clearblue digital with my DD but it wasn't that early.

Anyone used on of these early (like the recommended 4 days) and got a BFP? Or do they need more hormone because they're digital?

I did two tests on - the cheap coop ones,
- clearblue one where the pee area changes colour
- clearblue detail where it said I was about 5 weeks!

All BFP.

Not sure about the digital ones but got my bFaintP on an internet cheapie 9DPO, Also did a first response early at the same time and this was a faint but definate positive. It took about 5 days before the internet cheapie got very dark. The first response was a definate dark dark line by 12dpo.

9dpo! Thats amazing!

What does DPO mean?

I got a very faint positive using a Boots own-brand on the day my period was due.

piggyboo · 22/02/2012 22:22

DPO = days past ovulation

you'll only really know this if your using ovulation predictor kits/monitors or taking your temp every day. It was 5 days before my period was due.

So at 12dpo with three different tests being negative (first response / clearblue not digital and an amazon 20 for £1) theres still hope? :)

Got a negative with a cheap sainsburys own PT day before period was due - clearblue digital both positive the next two days. However I did do the cheap test in afternoon not morning so maybe the sample was not concentrated enough!

KatAndKit · 23/02/2012 10:22

11dpo (I made a point not to test before this) - faint line on cheapie, definite positive on First Response and Superdrug. I expect the First Response would also have shown up positive a day earlier. I was using ovulation tests too.

McBaby · 23/02/2012 10:23

Positive results five days before period was due using First Response. Clear blue digital was negative until the day after it was due!

rhibutterfly · 23/02/2012 10:25

i've used clearblue and had negative results only to go out and buy really cheap tests and been positive on both DDs on my first i was 2 and half weeks and second 3 weeks

farmerswifey · 23/02/2012 10:46

I ordered the Amazon cheap sticks, but didn't quite trust the positive result (two days before AF) so ended up buying a First Response 'just to be sure' - still can't quite believe it 17 weeks on :)

MillyStar · 23/02/2012 12:18

I did a boots own brand test and a clearblue digital the day before my period was due, they both said positive and the clearblue said 2-3 weeks!

Then i did about 8 superdrug ones onver the next few weeks just to see that line come up again and again ;)

melliebobs · 23/02/2012 12:31

I did a first response test 3 days before AF - BFN
I did a first response test the day of AF - BFN
money well spent there!
Did a cheap Sainsburies one the day after AF - BFN
Gave up then and thought 'ah well not this month'
But I did the second Sainsburies one 5 days after AF and got a very strong BFP

Gooseysgirl · 23/02/2012 13:04

I did an Internet cheapie at 10 DPO because my boobs were absolutely KILLING me!! Got very faint BFP. Did CB digital 2 days later and got positive result... Due in 4 days Smile Used up the rest of the tests over the following couple of weeks (was still in utter disbelief as it was only our second month of TTC) on the cheapies the second line got stronger each time.
