Moses basket sheets

Following on from a few threads about moses baskets, I was wondering whether it would make me a bad Mummy to use pillowcases as moses basket sheets?

Obviously I'd tuck the corners of the pillow case under the mattress so as not to suffocate the poor child.

It just seems such a rip off to buy all the kit for the baby to sleep in it for about 2 months!

I believe that this is fairly common practice! It's not the first time I've seen it mentioned online anyway. Moses basket sheets are 2 for a fiver in Asda though if you wanted some cheap ones. Another option is to use flat cot sheets (which you will need to buy sooner or later I presume) and fold them up.

I used the moses basket sheets in the pram too, so they were quite useful IMO. I only paid a couple of quid for them on ebay anyway.

DD never slept in the moses basket - she liked to stretch her arms out!

I spent an hour yesterday cutting nd hemming an old single bed sheet to make little sheets for the moses basket. The price of new was just ridiculous for a small cotton rectangle.

I used pillow cases in DS's carry cot, we also had a crib and I really didn't want to end up with a ridiculous amount of random baby size sheets that only got used for a couple of months, has done him no harm at all and no one else seemed to notice.
