It's my due date today - and I know that it is sooo unlikely that baby was going to arrive on the due date but I'm ready to go now!

My back aches like mad, I haven't slept properly for the last month at least, I'm mainlining raspberry leaf tea and pineapple - come on baby!

Disclaimer - sorry to all those people on threads who are overdue and way more fed up than me! :)

"I haven't slept properly for the last month at least", you know this isn't going to get better when the baby comes, unless you have trained your DH/DP to do the night feeds :)

I hope your baby comes soon :)

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 22/02/2012 15:14

Hi Shoe, I'm only 37 weeks and already feel the same way. The idea of possibly having to wait another 5 weeks makes we want to cry.

Ho hum, I guess there are some things that you just can't control after all :)

(p.s. and if one more person tells me how I should make the most of this 'quiet time to myself' I might just scream)

ShoeJunkie · 22/02/2012 16:05

Milk I know, I know but at least I will be able to sleep in any position I choose. Grin

Hiding I'm sure we'll look back on this thread once babies are here and roll our eyes but right now...!

Im v ready and fed up already and i have just over 6 weeks till my due date!! But I dont think the constant monotoring poking and proding due to a small baby and placenta issues, spd, siatica and uti's help!! ;-)
The lack of sleeo due to pregnancy aches pains etc I found was way worse than the lack of sleeo due to a newborn (my dd sleept through from 6 weeks so it isnt always awfull) at least when you do get sleep its good comfertable sleep instead of agonising tossing turning aches pains and constant weeing!!!
I hope your baby arrives soon keep on with fresh pinapple lots of rlt to drink maybe a curry and a bit of the other it worked for me last time and my dd was 7 days early!! Good luck! xx

Breadrollsbuns · 22/02/2012 16:39

ShoeJunkie, i'm due tomorrow so will happily volunteer to be your p'd off and overdue buddy!

pjd · 22/02/2012 16:51

ShoeJunkie, I'll join you as a due date buddy - I'm due today too. Went to the midwife for a sweep today, but apparently my cervix isn't favourable, i.e. there is no chance of it arriving any time soon!! I didn't want to have the baby before my due date, as I had lots to do, having just moved house, but now I'm quite ready!! And I so feel your pain on the sleeping front!! Can't wait to be able to sleep on my back again.

Bella30 · 22/02/2012 17:06

I'm due in a week and ready to go now. The thought of a possible 3 more weeks is not appealing - it's the backache-related lack of sleep that's getting me down too. Here's hoping these babies arrive soon Smile

ShoeJunkie · 22/02/2012 17:31

Fingers crossed for all of us to get things moving soon!

Still here - anyone else?!

OP posts:
Hootie · 24/02/2012 10:58

Yep me! Had enough enough enough and I'm sorry but I'm only 37 weeks which is nothing compared to you :-(. This will be dd2 and I have to say I agree with the sleep actually being better after the baby was born! I actually got to sleep and stayed asleep until the baby woke, as opposed to tossing and turning and getting knackered. And my back hurts so much now- way more than my bits hurt after the birth lol! I guess I was very lucky last time so hopefully it'll go ok this time :-) good luck to you though I hope things start very soon!

Breadrollsbuns · 24/02/2012 11:06

I'm still here Shoe! Had a sweep yesterday morning and a bad stomach yesterday afternoon but nothing since then :(

When are you back to see the MW?

Bella30 · 24/02/2012 11:34

Yes, still waiting! Not sure what to do with myself today. No signs of anything happening, though I am hyper-sensitive to any little twinge. God I hope it's not going to be another two and a half weeks...

ShoeJunkie · 24/02/2012 12:46

Not until next Wednesday (41 weeks). I have had a few twinges I think (but that maybe wishful thinking!).

Weekend babies for us perhaps?!

OP posts:
Breadrollsbuns · 24/02/2012 17:39

Agreed ShoeJunkie, as long as it's this weekend and not next!!

What's the policy in your locality for going overdue? Where I am I think it's another sweep at 40+7 (next Thursday for me) followed by induction at 40+12.

I feel like I've been pregnant FOREVER (apologies to those more overdue than me)!

Hootie · 25/02/2012 11:14

This weekend would be lovely!! Im also getting excited at every minor tummy twinge and wake up in the morning and my first thought is oh my waters didn't break last night gutted lol! Let's use these last few days or weeks as a fab excuse for some lovely cakes or a chocolate croissant or four! X

threecurrantbuns · 25/02/2012 13:10

I'm probably not rightly joining in. I have a whole 8 weeks to go, I have completely had enough, its no4 and I'm knackered body aches all over. I hope I hit 37 weeks and spontaneously go into labour :)

ShoeJunkie · 25/02/2012 16:51

Anyone fed up is welcome! Grin

Bread I'm due for a sweep at 41 weeks, not sure what the timescale is after that - really hoping it doesn't come to it I guess!

Come on babies!

ProjectGainsborough · 26/02/2012 09:56

Ooh, can I join in? Not due for another week or so, but I'd convinced myself that I was going to go early due to twinges that started last Friday and NOTHING HAS SODDING HAPPENED...

I am so fat and so moody.

Due for a sweep on Thur, though, so fingers crossed.

Breadrollsbuns · 27/02/2012 17:02

Hi all, just updating to say that NOTHING HAS HAPPENED since my last post :(. So fed up of constant texts asking if I've had any twinges and making jokes about being overdue. I know people are just trying to be nice but I'm having a major sense of humour failure every time I read another message and have started screening which phone calls I answer!

My major pet hate is 'oh well, it won't be much longer now' - EVERY DAY FEELS LIKE A SODDING YEAR SO SODDING SOD OFF!

Breadrollsbuns · 27/02/2012 17:10

Sorry, so engrossed in my rant that I forgot to add that I hope you're all ok and fingers crossed things are happening :)

ShoeJunkie · 27/02/2012 18:20

Nothing here either but off for a sweep in the next five mins.

And yep, one more is it here yet text and I will scream!

OP posts:
confuzed90 · 27/02/2012 18:46

I'm joining you...although I have 8 weeks left! I am SO fed up! I actually feel like I need to go to sleep or something for 8 weeks because I honestly don't know how I'm going to cope!!

ProjectGainsborough · 17/03/2012 16:37

...Did anyone on this thread have their baby yet? DD came 2 days after posting. Hoping it was a lucky thread for others too!

stripeyZ · 17/03/2012 18:08

Ooh I'll join. Still have two weeks to go but just so tired despite getting loads of good sleep. I can't feel my hand today as I'm really heavy & must have slept on it all night Blush

Bub feels v comfy in there. Not had any twinges, signs or anything yet. Everyone thinks he'll come soon as I'm huge but who knows.

Not sure if I'm ready for him to come or not, I keep getting the fear when I think about the birth Confused Not keen on feeling like this for much longer either though.

Gingersnap88 · 17/03/2012 20:15

It's my due date today, I've been having twinges for the last 2 weeks and am now thoroughly fed up! Sad

Please regale me with your stories that babies do actually arrive and I'm not having a phantom pregnancy or a cake baby! Smile
