so am I the only one who gets this? I have never seen it mentioned by anyone elsr. This is my 4th pregnancy and in everyone i have struggled to sleep well because whichever side I lay on I get ear ache on that side. Not so much inner ear pain but more the ear itself hurts.

Anyone else get this or am I alone in this odd symptom?

oh yes i have that on my list of oddities as well. I once had a reflexology client who compained of it in pregnancy and I though it odd, and am now experiencing it too. Funny isn't it. I did look it up on google the other week and people do get it even when not pregnant, something to do with blood flow to the ear. someone said to make sure there is no hair over the ear, bit odd, and someone else had cut a foam ring out to pop ear into! funny old game. in chinese medicine apparently this is associated with low back problems and i have been suffering - have you?

At least I am not alone! I was starting to worry. The only time I have noticed the back problems is when washing up, otherwise it seems fine. Saying that my osteopath from when I was younger said that 2 vertebrae in my back didn't fit together properly. Hmm I occasionally get it when not pregnant but get it every night during pregnancy.

I will try keeping my hair well away from it, although I think I do this anyway because it makes it worse. Not 100% sure as I am normally half asleep when the pain kicks in! lol

I get a sort of numb, but achey ear sometimes, not just in pregnancy tho.
Have always thought I'd laid on it too long or at a funny angle!

Ooooh, I get this all the time! I've had it sporadically for years and once asked my GP about it - she said it was something to do with the air pressure in my ears changing as I moved my head after lying on one side for any length of time. It bloody hurts, doesn't it?! Some mornings I can hardly bear to move my head off the pillow... hmmm, possibly not only due to the ouch ears... Wink

Lol i am with you on not being able to get head off pillow!

blondie i thought it was the way i laid on it too for a while but even laying without my ear touching the pillow it can still hurt so i guess passthebiccies suggestion of air pressure may be possible.
