C section or go overdue?

I have a serious fear of natural birth for this reason I was given an elective c section for last Friday, however after a long consideration I cancelled and it was re schedules for the 24th of feb by due date!
Today I gotta sign all the papers and they will talk to me about the procedure and so on, u kept hoping that u would go into labour before the 17th which didn't happen and now hoping that I will go info labor before the 24th but no far it doesn't seem like it!
It may sound silly but the way in stands in my head that if I do go in labour before the c section it's out of my control.
I'm just scared to be in a position where I would go overdue and no section would be possible any more!
It's my first baby and the baby's head is engaged 2/3 as of last week hopefully that means that I could be in labour soon??!

There's no reason why you can't go over your EDD and still have a section.

Even if you go into labour before 24 February, you phone the hospital when you start having contractions and they should arrange for you to go in for a CS immediately.

What has led you to think that you can't have a cs post 40 weeks?

In terms of engaged heads, dd's head was fully engaged and fixed at 31 weeks. She was born at 39 weeks so it doesn't mean a thing I'm afraid.

I'm waiting at the pre assessment clinic now and hope to get all my questions answered Blush

Oh dear! Well, from what I can tell it won't make any difference if you go 'over'. If you go into labour before your CS date-whenever that is - call the hospital and explain you're booked for an ELCS and are contracting. They should have you straight in and in theatre as soon as is practical and possible.

Sorry Diana, but i don't understand your post? Confused
Do you want a section? or do you want a vaginal birth?
I don't understand why you cancelled the first section, and why you said

'now hoping that I will go info labor before the 24th but no far it doesn't seem like it!
