Just got out of bed and showered and have really real period pain type ache in my lower tummy... It doesn't come and go, it's constant and is starting to make me feel a bit sick... What's happening? I don't think I've ever had braxton hicks or anything although not sure... This is first baby...

I'm 36 weeks and have this. Doctor Google tells me its ligaments stretching as baby engages. I had an awful upset tummy yesterday and thought things were happening as was having tightening too, but thankfully today it all seems to have settled down. Still have the period pains though.

Now you mention it I also have had upset tum... In a scared/nervous/excited way I hoped it might be the beginning or something happening!!

If it was in a weeks time I might welcome it, but am keen to use the mlu and I know you have to be 37 weeks. I don't think period pains are a problem per se, but nor do I think it necessarily means things are imminent. I'be been more than a week overdue twice before, so am now at the stage of getting my head around the idea that baby could be here in a week, or could be here in 6!

Hi, I am 36+ too and have the same thing, I just assumed it was the extra pressure as baby moves down, no cramps or anything so don't think it's the start of things
